Help with the APA Format
What is the process for documenting my sources with the APA Style?
Place a parenthetical reference in the text immediately after the information taken from the source.
Make a corresponding citation entry in the reference list.
How do I prepare my reference list using the APA Style?
For citing information from books, journals, and other traditional sources, use the online APA Style Guide or consult the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, found in every VCTC Library location.
For citing information sources from the Web, the latest information may be found on the Official APA Web Site , particularly in the sections labeled Citations in Text of Electronic Materials or Reference Examples for Electronic Source Materials
An excellent summary of why and how to cite using APA Style is found in a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, Documenting Sources: Using APA Format. This summary works best when viewed with Internet Explorer.
